from guaranteeing a job. However, job skills training
is an important service provided to all students free

What is the difference between a TESL Diploma and
a TESL Certificate?
TESL is mandated in Ontario as a post-secondary field of study which requires that a TESL training program be approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. In order to issue a DIPLOMA the institution must be post-secondary and the institution must have the program inspected and approved as a Diploma. Some Colleges in Ontario have upgraded their TESL Certificate program to a TESL Diploma program over the past few years to meet with industry standards and to help individuals distinguish between a post-secondary and non-post-secondary program. This program is a Diploma program. Credits from a Diploma program tend to also be more widely accepted as transfers for graduate programs in TESL. Credit transfers are up to the university to evaluate and grant.
Where can I work with this Diploma?
The program provides training
in all areas of TESL so that graduates can decide which
area they are best suited for. Graduates of this program
have gained employment in virtually all sectors of the
ESL field including language schools, learning centres,
secondary and elementary schools, school board adult education,
LINC Centres, special education, government programs,
and even starting their own tutoring businesses.
Does the College provide any financial assistance
to students?
Tuition fees can be paid
on a monthly payment plan rather than in full at the start
of the program. This may help make the tuition fees more
affordable. Tuition fees can also be paid using any major
credit (Visa, MasterCard, Amex) to help students spread
out payments even further. This program may also be eligible
for government financial aid; all recipients are welcome.
How do I apply?
Simply request an application
form by email, mail, telephone, or in person and submit
it with the required the supporting documents by the application
deadline. Contact the registrar's office for application
deadline and start dates.
