The Canadian College of Educators prides itself in the

years of education and experience to its programs and
administration.
C. Valero, Dean
Ms. Valero holds an Honours Bachelor Degree in Linguistics
and Modern Languages from McMaster University and a Graduate
Degree in Translation from the University of Ottawa; she
is currently pursuing a second graduate degree (M.Ed in
Second Language Education) at the Ontario Institute for
Studies in Education of the University of Toronto where
her areas of writing and research are in bilingual education
and global literacy practices. Before being appointed
President and Dean of the Canadian College of Educators
she was a University Professor at the University of Ottawa's
Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation (1999
- 2004), served as a Terminologist & Translator for
the Translation Bureau of Public Works and Government
Services Canada (1997 - 2000), and has over 15 years experience
in education as an English, French, and Spanish Teacher
in Ontario secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
Much of her work in the field of linguistics has been
published by the Canadian Federal Government in language
journals and is contained in more than 50,000 terminological
records in TERMIUM®, our government's linguistic databank.
Ms. Valero has been very involved in the field of TESL Training and the Post-Secondary Education private sector for the past 5 years where her focus is on Program Standards, Accreditation, and Government Relations. She currently serves on the TESL Ontario TESL Training Institutions Board of Directors and served for two consecutive years (2007 – 2008) on the Ontario Association of Career Colleges Board of Directors as Chair of the International Education Committe, Co-Chair of the Government Relations Committee, and Committe Member for Program Standards and Accreditation in co-operation with the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities working groups.
G. Densmore, Director of Studies
Mr. Densmore holds a Masters in Education from Brock University
and Certification from the Ontario College of Teachers.
He had 34 years of experience in the Canadian public education
system as both a teacher and vice-principal for the Ontario
Upper Grand District School Board before entering the
field of adult education at the Canadian College of Educators
where he shares his vast knowledge and experience with
future educators. In addition to his expertise in education,
he holds additional qualifications in TESL, Program Development
and Implementation, Program Supervision and Assessment,
and Librarianship.
J. Smith, Director of Online Studies
Ms. Smith holds a BA in Linguistics from the University
of Toronto, BA in Sociology from York University, and
a B.Ed in Adult Education from Brock University. Ms. Smith
served as both ESL Teacher and Program Officer for the
Toronto District School Board for 16 years before joining
the Canadian College of Educators. She has a passion for
new technologies in teaching and learning.
